The reunion of the Stooges is about to result in its second album. Although no release date has been announced, we have learned that the legendary protopunk band have finished 'Ready to Die,' the follow-up to 'The Weirdness,' their comeback album 2007.

Legendary musician and producer Alan Parsons has announced his plans for the 2013 touring season, including a rare eight concerts in the United States. The U.S. leg of the tour will kick off on Feb. 14 in Fort Pierce, Fla. and wrap up on Feb. 24 in Napa, Calif.

Any rock fan worth his or her salt is aware of the "live fast, die young" mythology surrounding the music -- and lord knows we've all seen more than enough musicians succumb to the stereotype. But a new study suggests the phenomenon might be far more widespread than previously believed.

The music world is mourning the death of legendary A&M Records executive Gil Friesen (pictured at left in the above photo), who along with Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, helped grow the record label into a major player in the music industry. Friesen passed away Thursday (Dec. 13) at his Los Angeles home at the age of 75.

The Home Free Vocal Band is coming to Duluth, to put on their Christmas Show. Band, is used loosely, as they create all the instruments with their mouths and bodies. This Friday they will visit the KOOL morning show to sing live and demonstrate their unique take on the Christmas Classics.

As a life-long audiophile that got his start when music was still serviced on vinyl records, I have often lamented that the digital age has done away with the album as a work of art.  I'm not talking about the cover art (don't get me started on the inferior packaging that CD's come in) - I'm talking about the set of songs that are put together to equal an album.
