I have been watching a webcast called "Failure Club". It's about New Yorkers who set a goal and have to achieve it in a year. One of those people on the show was Elizabeth Chan. Her goal was to write a World Famous Christmas Song.

According to a study  by Prudential, released on this day in 2009, the average person spends $42,000 on music during their lifetime. That figure includes listening equipment (stereo,  iPods,  etc) as well as concerts, digital downloads, and Cd's. Here's the kicker. A music enthusiast (like myself) is likely to spend more than double that, just around $89,000 in their lifetime.

This heralded a quantum shift in the way fans would consume music for the next two decades.

The J. Geils Band have announced their 2012 Houseparty Tour. Beginning Aug. 25 in Syracuse, N.Y., the veteran rockers will play nine dates in the Northeast, winding up in Hampton Beach, N.H. on Sept. 22. More dates are expected to be added soon.
