March 4, 2013 Audra Flanagan has been selected to serve as the City of Duluth’s Manager of Human Resources, Healthcare & Safety. Flanagan, a Lieutenant Colonel, served as the Wing Executive Officer for the 148th Fighter Wing, the Duluth-based Air National Guard base.
January 30, 2013 Mayor Ness is encouraging Duluth residents to submit an application to be considered to serve on City of Duluth boards and commissions which currently, or in the near future, will have vacancies. The City of Duluth has approximately 30 boards and commissions, providing valuable input and leadership on topics that include disabilities, forestry, alcohol licensing, planning and zoning, and many others.
January 8, 2013 Rubber Chicken Theater produced this parody video for our holiday sketch comedy revue "A Flood of Christmas Cheer" that was performed December 2012. The premise was that cast member Greg J. Anderson's new dance was sweeping the Twin Ports and this video was his proof.
Mayor Don Ness welcomed some very special guests to City Hall today, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, they are in town for the first ever appearance of 'Disney on Ice' in Duluth and to celebrate the Mayor declared today 'Disney on Ice' Day in the city.
November 21, 2012 Mayor Don Ness posted on his facebook account that the house on Mesaba will finally be torn down. When I looked at everyone's comments, everyone is happy about it.
October 24, 2012 Mayor Don Ness will hold his ‘Mayor’s Night’ event with Duluth citizens at City Hall on October 30, 2012. The meeting starts at 5:00 p.m. and continues until each person has a chance to speak with the Mayor. The meeting will be held in the Fourth Floor Reception Room, which is Room 405 of Duluth City Hall (411 West First Street).

June 22, 2012 I had the pleasure of Talking with Duluth Mayor Don Ness, He was kind enough to call into the morning show and talk about the state of Duluth on Thursday. I just want to personally thank the Mayor, he could have said he was too busy and I would have understood, but he made the time to call in and talk.

Duluth Mayor Don Ness earlier today declared a state of emergency, requesting assistance from state and federal authorities in clean up and rescue efforts as a result of the extreme rainfall totals in the past 24 hours. Governor Mark Dayton issued a response as well, offering the following thoughts on the deviating rainfall:
June 20, 2012 With this mornings storms and the ones to follow, police have advised people not to travel. Streets are washed out and if there is standing water there could be hidden sink holes.
Mayor Don Ness declared a state of emergency on his facebook page.
