If you have old appliances, electronics, tires, and more that you need to get rid of - your chance is coming Saturday, June 14 in Superior and other locations in Douglas County.  It's a Cleansweep Event - with drop-off locations in Superior at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds and in Lake Nebagamon and Brule.

Here's what you can dispose of in Superior - from 10AM to 2PM:

  • Hazardous waste
  • Appliances
  • Electronics
  • Medications

At the Lake Nebagamon location, staff will be available from 10AM to 12 Noon, collecting the following items:

  • Tires
  • Appliances

In Brule at the Transfer Station, residents can come between 8AM to 12 Noon to drop off the following:

  • Tires
  • Appliances

People bringing items to these locations should expect to pay a fee for some of the items.  Here is a list of provided sample rates for the Superior fairgrounds location:

  • Most appliances:  Free
  • Freezes & Refrigerators:  $15
  • Computers & laptops:  Free
  • Printers, stereos, DVD players, phones, VCR's:  Free
  • Console televisions:  $15
  • Projection televisions:  $15
  • Plastic televisions:  $5
  • Monitors:  $5
  • Monitors or TV's with broken glass:  $10
  • Certified DOD pipe:  $10
  • Fluorescents Bulbs under 4-feet:  $0.50
  • Florescents Bulbs over 5-feet:  $0.75
  • Shatter Shield Florescents under 4-feet:  $1.75
  • Shatter Shield Florescents over 5-feet:  $2.25

 

The rates for tires at the Brule and Lake Nebagamon sites:

  • Car tires:  $2.00
  • Car tires on  the rim:  $4.00
  • Larger tires:  Expect additional charges
