Two different road projects - both affecting different parts of I-35 - kick off on Tuesday, September 3.  Ahead of the start date, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is working to alert drivers so that they can be prepared.

One of the projects will affect drivers in the Twin Ports Metro, as additional prep-work for the upcoming Can-of-Worms rebuild happens.  The left land of northbound I-35 between the Highway 53 on-ramp and Garfield Avenue Bridge will be closed from September 3 to September 5 and again from September 11 to September 13.  For both of these closure ranges, the lane will be closed off to drivers between the hours of 9:00 AM until the evening hours.

The other I-35 project that will involve lane closures will take place further south - near Willow River.  That project will allow bridge painting on County Highway 43 where it crosses over I-35.  There will be signage in place to alert drivers.  This project near Willow River is anticipated to be complete by mid-September.
