Organizers with the City of Duluth and the Greater Downtown Council are inviting everyone to a special kick-off event to celebrate work commencing on the second phase of the reconstruction project for Superior Street.
Officials with St. Louis County are making plans for the replacement of the 98-year old bridge that crosses the French River along the North Shore Scenic Drive/Highway 61. The work is expected to begin in 2020.
After first being discussed about two years ago, officials with Minnesota Department of Transportation have added the replacement of the Blatnik Bridge into their ten-year plan - focusing a completed-by date of 2028 at an estimated cost of $460 million dollars.
Plans for the rebuild for the Can Of Worms intersection - the interchange at I-35 and Highway 53 - continue to roll along. Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation have announced another round of informational meetings to update the general public about the plans.
