Boy George And Culture Club Coming To Minnesota
Boy George and Culture Club are bringing their classic sound to Southern Minnesota for a night in the time machine.
August 25 at the Mystic Showroom will be the night to re-live the 80s hits that Culture Club made famous. Culture Club had huge hits like "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” and “Karma Chameleon”, also “Time (Clock of the Heart)” and “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya.”
Culture Club was one of the biggest pop bands of the ‘80s, and like Duran Duran, influenced fashion and what people looked like in the 80s. Their songs have stood the test of time and have been featured in many movies over the years. The most famous was "The Wedding Singer".
Boy George was something no one had seen before. He had a look all his own, like he still does, and combined with great songs and a great band behind him, they became popular fast. Boy George got them noticed then the songs hooked you. No one had seen someone as flamboyant as Boy George with makeup on and dressing so different than anyone had ever seen.
Boy George will be joined on stage by longtime members bassist Mikey Craig, drummer Jon Moss, and guitarist Roy Hay. According to the Mystic Lake press release, Culture Club was the first band since The Beatles to get three top 10 hits from their debut album on the Billboard Charts.
