Highway 210 Flood Reconstruction Informational Meeting Happens June 4

The Northland continues it's clean-up and rebuilding efforts following last summers flood.  Along with the Duluth area, one of the hardest-hit areas was just to the south around Jay Cooke State Park.  A meeting being held tonight will focus on the efforts to repair the damage to Highway 210 in the Forbay Lake Area.

Lake Superior Zoo Celebrates The Dedication Of Their New Barnyard Exhibit; Activities Reopen Following Renovation From Flood Damage

The June 2012 flooding caused much devastation in the Twin Ports.  One public area that sustained both damage and attention was the Lake Superior Zoo - specifically the barnyard exhibit.

If you've been looking for a date for the annual Knife River tour of homes - you'll have to look until next year.  The 2012 version of A Country Christmas on the North Shore has been put on hold and is taking the year off.

Highway 210 Bridge At Thompson Scheduled To Reopen In Early December, Following Damage From June Flood

A six-month rehabilitation program is nearly complete and officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation have announced that the Highway 210 Bridge at Thompson is scheduled to be re-opened in early December

Northland Non-Profits To Get Help From Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation And The Margaret A Cargill Foundation

Northland non-profits will see additional help in their on-going flood-recovery, following a joint donation from the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation and the Margaret A Cargill Foundation.  $500,000 - the largest outside donation to date from the agency - will address a wide-variety of needs these non-profits have.

Victims of the June flood will be in the spotlight on Saturday as Tailgate to Recovery happens in the "green space" between WITC and the University of Wisconsin-Superior's Marcovich Wellness Center.  A group of Superior Senior High School students have chosen to help their friends and neighbors with their Senior Project;  In conjunction with the City of Superior, the Superior-Douglas County Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way - they've organized this benefit for Saturday, October 13th.
