Pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States. 94% of pancreatic cancer patients will die within five years of diagnosis – only 6% will survive more than five years. 74% of patients die within the first year of diagnosis. That's why the Park Point Beach Run for Pancreatic Cancer is important.

Grandma's Marathon announces the first annual Park Point Beach Run 5K for Pancreatic Cancer on Saturday, September 21, 2013! Run in honor of board members that lost their lives to the disease, Don Fennessy and Kevin Peterson.

The race will be run along both the trails and sandy shore of Lake Superior at Park Point. Beach attire is encouraged (but not required), so plan to come in your favorite festive beach wear! There will be a contest for best dressed. This is just another great experience with racing, and what better backdrop than the lake and the beach.

If you sign up now there is a  $5 discount on the Sept. 21 race, it runs now through July 31. To save $5 CLICK HERE and sign up, remember to put in the code: PP513.
