Nobody like to be stuck in traffic, especially road construction. Today on my way to the studio I was stuck on the Bong for eight minutes, then the off ramp, and finally I-35. The problem according to the signs was painting on the freeway. As I crept closer, I saw a white truck sitting in the grass (you can see it on the video) and several men standing by it. I did not see any blockage on the freeway however.

My chief concern is not that I was late, but rather the onslaught of tourists heading to Duluth this Summer. Many retailers rely on the tourist trade..Canal Park, Downtown merchants, The DECC and Amsoil Arena, Bayfront Bluesfest hotels, motels, restaurants and more. Lets face it..people don't really NEED to come visit and spend their money in Duluth. The more we can do to both attract them, and the easier we can make it for them, the more will come. Continual road construction year after year has a negative effect on tourism, as well as business here in the Northland. Many towns in America do their road repair during the night so as not to impair normal traffic during the day. Just a thought....
