Why Did Van Halen Owe 2 Million Dollars After Selling 1 Million Records, What Is The Motown Deal

I found this string of interviews so interesting. Not only am I a huge Van Halen fan, but I love hearing the stories when they first started and when they were hungry and poor. They were regular guys trying to make good music and wanting a record deal.

They tell the story of how they hardly made any money and the only place they could find rock and roll clothes was a sex store. (There's a funny story about who they saw once they got to the store to buy some clothes.)

Eddie has a great story about almost getting arrested, and getting kicked out of Scotland. The excitement of being on the road and how little time it took them to record their second record.
