A while back I did a write up on The Ruth Free Store in Superior, WI.  I really dug the idea of a place people can go to get items they need at no cost to them, especially winter clothing.

The concept is simple, you take only what you need but also drop off things you aren't using.  It's based on need, not greed.  The Ruth Free Store is a place to keep in mind as you start to do some Spring cleaning and organization.  Just because it's getting warmer out, doesn't mean others aren't in need of decent clothing year-round, so I urge you to consider them when donating.

Currently located at 1423 Belknap Street, as of April 2nd, 2022 the new address will be 1419 Belknap Street.  While not a far move for them, it will be about twice the size, which means more room to stock items for those in need.  They are taking it a step farther though and adding a diner.

The Ruth Diner will serve lunch and dinner daily following the theme of the store, so for free.  All meals will be prepared in the Ruth House's serve-safe kitchen and the diner portion is sure to be a huge benefit to those in need.

If you want to help out the cause, you can reach out to Pastor Jack Swonger at: 218-221-4636.  You can also stop by Ruth House located at 632 Grand Avenue in Superior, WI to inquire about volunteering or other ways you can help them help those in need.
