We asked for your nominations for the best local performers and now we have them down to 5 finalists. Now we need your help to vote for the best. Each of these artists had to be from the area and perform on a regular basis. So here they are:
When I was a kid, there was a lot of the Duluth Heights that were undeveloped, that made for some great sliding places. I used to slide down the hill at Cathedral, now Marshall High School. There was a huge hill, the football field was just a practice field and Mars wasn't there yet.
Some of the worst things that come to mind, the traffic, it's not like the big cities but it can get bad everywhere. The cold, I know I don't have to explain, but when you can't talk anymore because it's so cold, or your car won't start.
When you think of the best things about living in the Duluth/Superior area, the first thing that comes to mind is the scenery. For more than 25 years, graduates have been invited to one last bash at the school. The event, which takes place the evening of graduation, is a drug, alcohol, smoke and cell phone free party. Instead, students enjoy food, games, prizes and a wide range of activities.
The roundabout coming off the John A. Blatnik Bridge bridge to Superior has many feeling it was build to small. Add snow to the mix and people lose there minds. Even Myth Busters proved that they work.
