The popular Beijing Chinese Restaurant sure has had its ups and downs this past decade. First, they had to close their old location in 2013 on East Superior Street because the building they were in was demolished to make room for CVS. Then, in 2016, Beijing opened in the former Pizza Hut building at 1918 London Road.

I can attest to the fact that when they first opened at the new location, the restaurant was packed and it was quite the long wait to order to go as well. This pace went on for at least 6 months, but it just goes to show how great the food is and the loyalty of it's customers, like me.

Then in October of 2018, a massive fire broke out in the building and gutted the dining area and basement. According to FOX 21, owner Cindy Lee said Sunday that "repairs from the fire are complete and all the city permits are signed off to open." Beijing Restaurant on London Road will officially reopen its doors Tuesday, February 11 at 11 a.m. Lee says "she’s excited to see all of her loyal customers."

Well, my dinner plans are set for Tuesday!
