Old Farmer's Almanac Releases Winter Predictions For Northland

Winter is coming...whether we like it or not. By the sounds of it, it looks like it could be a mild one in the Northland.

The Old Farmer's Almanac released their predictions for the 2020 - 2021 winter season. So what can we expect? Here's a breakdown, according to forecasters:

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, things will be mild across the country. Forecasters say they don't expect this winter to be "extremely cold" anywhere, thanks to rising temperature trends across the nation.
The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting "a light winter" for most of the country along with warmer-than-normal temperatures.
Snowfall totals will be above normal for Minnesota and a good chunk of Wisconsin. The Old Farmer's Almanac says it will be very wet in our region.
As for when the snow will fall most in our region, the Old Farmer's Almanac says the snowiest periods will be in late December, early and late January, late February and early March.
As mentioned above, temperatures will be above average across the country, including in our region. Our chilliest periods will be in December, late January and late February.
Last, we can't rule out a few periods of what the Old Farmer's Almanac calls "chilly winter rainy periods" despite the fact that we will see a warmer-than-average winter.

I don't know about you but this definitely makes me less anxious about this winter! The Old Farmer's Almanac makes long-term weather predictions by region and not everyone believes in the methodology behind their forecasts.
