NCHC Penrose Cup To Visit Amsoil Arena As Part Of Hockey Day Minnesota

Rob Leer came in to the KOOL studio to tell us a little about the Penrose cup and show it off a little. The cup is what the winner of the NCHC regular season gets for having the most points in the league. It is in Duluth to visit the Amsoil Arena so you can get a picture taken with it. DON'T TOUCH IT!!

Why? Because of superstition mostly, if you touch it the UMD Bulldogs will have no chance to win the league.Only the champions touch the cup, and only after they win it. The winners of the Atlantic and Pacific leagues in the NHL also will not touch because the superstition is they will not win the Stanley Cup.

There are many events going on this weekend for Hockey Day Minnesota, which you can see. Definitely make your way down to see this beautiful cup, which will be for the winner of the Frozen Faceoff Champion at the Target Center March 18th and 19th. For more information click here.
