No matter where you live, whenever you decide to go out to eat, there are many things to consider. Not only do you get to choose what kind of food you want, but you also take into consideration the type of ambiance you want.

While I often choose the more casual places, sometimes it's fun to dress up and go somewhere a little more fancy. However, don't we all need to let loose once in a while and try something fun that's a little on the wild side?

That is where themed restaurants come into play. While they aren't as prevalent as your standard dining places, they can be a lot more fun! A themed restaurant uses a theme to create a unique dining experience.

The best part is that you don't have to travel across the country to enjoy a unique themed restaurant experience. There are great options in every state, including Wisconsin, and one place, in particular, has been named one of the best-themed restaurants in America.

The Best Themed Restaurant In Wisconsin

To help steer residents and travelers alike to the best themed restaurants in every state, FoodLove sent its team across the country to experience restaurants in person, while also researching genuine user reviews, awards, and accolades.

In Wisconsin, one restaurant stood tall above all others, and if you have a true sense of adventure you must visit this place as soon as possible.

The best themed restaurant in Wisconsin, and one of the best in America, is the SafeHouse, 'Milwaukee’s best-kept secret since 1966.' The SafeHouse, located at 779 North Front Street, is a restaurant and bar that creates a fun and cool atmosphere with its unique spy theme that engages you the moment you arrive.

You'll know you're at the right place when you see its iconic Red Door, located in an alleyway near the Milwaukee River, and are asked to provide a password to get in.

Just behind the door marked International Exports, Ltd., you'll find Agent MoneyPenny guarding the entrance and ensuring each spy knows the password. However, don't panic if you don't know the password, they won't turn you away. You'll just be asked to do a fun and simple "clearance test" to prove you're not a double agent, such as showing them your best ninja moves.

Once inside, you'll find 'authentic espionage artifacts, delicious eats, and cocktails.' The team at LoveFood enjoyed the pre-dinner scavenger hunts, hidden clues, sliding bookcases, and spy cameras. They also noted SafeHouse's inventive menu, which featured aptly named items like the Mission Impossible burger.

Reviews backup the review as many have said it's one of the coolest places in town and the good is also great.

SafeHouse is family-friendly and while reservations aren't required, they are recommended.
