Team USA and University of Minnesota-Duluth goaltender Maddie Rooney pays tribute to Duluth on the back of her goalie helmet for the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

How cool is it to see the Aerial Lift Bridge featured on the back of Rooney's helmet? Rooney is a goaltender for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, and obviously feels pretty strong about Duluth. Goaltenders take the back of their helmet pretty seriously, with it being one of the few things they can be creative with.

The Duluth connection for Rooney goes a little deeper than just the helmet. The head coach for Team USA is Robb Stauber, a Duluth native who was also the first goalie to ever win the Hobey Baker Award for best player in college hockey.

The Andover, Minnesota native has been in net for two out of the three preliminary games for the United States of America Women's Olympic Team so far. Those two games have been a 3-1 win to start Olympic play over Finland and a 2-1 loss to Canada.
