A brave soldier is about to get a little help as he navigates his future!  USMC Cpl. (Retired) Mark Litynski and his wife will be the recipient of a custom-built Smart Home at a ceremony on Tuesday, June 16.

Corporal Litynski followed his dreams when he enlisted in the Marine Corps during his first year in college.  During Mark’s second deployment to Afghanistan, he volunteered to be the point man on a foot patrol.  It was during this patrol he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED), and lost both legs above the knee and his left arm above the elbow.  Even faced with such adversity, Mark’s injuries were no match for his spirit and strength, and after two months, he was up and walking on his first set of prosthetics.

This specially adapted custom “Smart Home” was built through the Gary Sinise Foundation's  R.I.S.E. Program (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) and the Building for America’s Bravest partner program.
