Bong Center In Superior Hosts Free Thanksgiving Meals For Military, Veterans + Active
It's a way to give back and say thanks to those who put their lives on the line for our freedom. For the fifth year in a row, the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center in Superior will host a free Thanksgiving meal to all active military, veterans, and their families.
The meal will be served to those who reserve their meals on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24 from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Those requesting the meals have the option of dining in or getting their meals for curbside pickup or delivery. Those choosing to dine in will even have the ability to follow the football game on the large television screen at the Bong Center. Organizers will also have door prizes available.
So what's on the menu? According to the details shared by the Superior Telegram [paywall], the free Thanksgiving Day meal includes "turkey, ham, numerous sides, and dessert".
Donated supplies will allow about 200 people to be served. Advance reservations are required. You can reserve your meal by calling 715-392-7151 or by going online.
Organizers are thanking the many community sponsors who have worked to make the meal possible. In addition to personal volunteers, the committee who puts the meal on wants to thank the American Legion Post 435, Pattison Park Lion's Club, Manitou Inn, Oliver Service Station, Rivord Repair Station, and Tom "Action Acton for their donations.
The Richard I Bong Veterans Historical Center is located at the intersection of Belknap Street/Highway 2 and Highway 53 in Superior - at 305 Harbor View Parkway.
