The next two and a half weeks will bring orange cones and lane closures for drivers who use the Bong Bridge as part of their daily commute.  It's time for the annual summer inspection - scheduled to start Monday, August 6 until Thursday, August 23.

The routine inspections are scheduled for the daytime hours only - between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  Drivers can expect to see the right-hand lane in both directions (the outside lanes) closed, with maintenance equipment and survey workers in those closed lanes.  According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the work will involve using truck-mounted bridge access equipment, which overhangs the edge of the bridge.

As with all summer road projects, the inspection timeline for the Bong Bridge is schedule to change - due to a variety of factors - including weather and other conditions. To learn more about this survey or any of the road construction projects this summer, visit the project page on the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's website.
