Big Week For Phil Collins: Olympic Rumors And Surprise Top Ten Album
Phil Collins' management company must be thanking their lucky stars; After being mostly out of the public eye for the last decade (or two), he's scoring in two surprising ways this week.
First, there's the Olympics rumor. If you believe the stories coming out of London, Phil Collins has been secretly selected to be the celebrity that lights the Olympic flame during the opening ceremonies. So far, no one is saying anything official.
Secondly, there's the surprise placement on this week's Billboard Hot 200 Albums chart. Phil's "Hits" album - which was originally released in 1990, is ranked this week at number 6 - thanks to a 99-cent promotion on Amazon.com. 40,000 copies of this 22 year old album were sold last week, which places Collins in the top ten of that chart for the first time in more than two decades.
