In my Grandma's Marathon Series with Bob Gustafson, we covered the entertainment for this years festivities. One thing Grandma's Marathon has done well, is to have great music for the day and at night to give everyone some time to have fun, whether it be before the marathon, for the families and friends of runners, or runners themselves.

KOOL 101.7 is your official Bayfront Bluesfest Radio Station. We are proud of that, but I feel as your official station, we always let you know updates and information about the festival. Some of the big artists coming that are some of my favs are: Savoy Brown, Robert Cray Band, and Marcia Ball.

If you haven't heard the two new tracks click here, they are innovative. Everyone remembers when Aerosmith did "Walk This Way" with Run-DMC. Well, this is on the same level. I wouldn't say I'm a rap fan, but I like these tracks because of the use of Rock guitar.

Hagar Schon Aaronson Shrieve (also known as HSAS) were a band featuring lead vocalist Sammy Hagar, lead guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Kenny Aaronson and drummer Michael Shrieve. The story goes that they rehearsed less than a month Warfield in San Francisco, it's called Through the Fire.

Chris Hadfield has 825,000 followers on Twitter. One of the reasons is he likes to show you what happens in space and makes all of his followers feel part of his adventure.  He showed what happens when you cry in space and brush your teeth.

My buddy Eddie and I were talking recently about Chicago coming to the DECC and what songs were our favorites. Every week we meet at my son's dance class, with his daughter, then we go to dinner. He and I discuss music a lot and so I told him I wanted to post this up.

MYNX was at the Sports Garden Rockin' and I captured these great moments while they were on stage. The band was phenomenal as usual and every song was perfect. They even did a version of "Thriller" with the Vincent Price voice over on the end.

The band MYNX a staple of Duluth music from the 80's is celebrating 30 years togetehr this Friday April 26th at Grandma's Sports Garden. The 30th Anniversary Concert is benefit the Essentia Health Foundation Breast Health Center. A lot has changed over those 30 years, and some things thankfully have remained the same.

Dulcimer Day in Duluth 2013 will be held May 4, 2013. The festival, now in its 12th year, is a great day for dulcimer and folk instrument players to gather to learn, listen and have a great time.There will be vendors and lunch will be available.

Three individuals that have ties to the rock/pop music world are being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Kenny Rogers, Bobby Bare, and "Cowboy" Jack Clement will take their place in the hallowed hall during a ceremony later this year.

Who says vinyl is dead?  Not Amazon - the mass internet merchandiser.  They recently announced a new service that allows audiophiles to get the best of both worlds.

I think there are a few things people can remember, one of them is the night Michael Jackson "Moonwalked" on stage at the Motown 25 show. The next day, everyone either did a great version of it, or a lousy one, like me.
