Amazon Introduces AutoRip Service, Providing Free Digital Copies Of Purchased Vinyl

Who says vinyl is dead?  Not Amazon - the mass internet merchandiser.  They recently announced a new service that allows audiophiles to get the best of both worlds.

Amazon's new AutoRip Service instantly gives consumers a digital copy of the vinyl records they buy from the website - FREE.

“We’re thrilled to extend this experience to vinyl records.” Steve Boom, Vice President of Digital Music for Amazon said in a statement. “Many of our music customers are vinyl fans and it’s traditionally been very difficult to make digital versions of vinyl records—now customers can enjoy the albums they buy wherever they are, not just when they have access to a record player.

In the past, customers wanting a vinyl and digital copy of an album would have had to buy both.
