Strike May Cause Twinkies Shortage on Grocery Shelves

Twinkies are here today, but for how long?
Hostess, which has made the Twinkie since 1933, is facing a labor strike at 23 of its 36 baking plants and is considering to “permanently close certain locations due to our inability to resume full-scale production,” In addition, Hostess is in the middle of it’s second bankruptcy in five years,
However, Hostess spokesman says “Operations have not been shut down, so we are still able to produce Twinkies and our other products,” he told The Daily yesterday.
Hostess has been suffering since the ’80s, when parents began to consider healthier snack options for their kids.
