The Bachelor franchise is making headlines this week and the latest drama from the franchise includes our new 'Bachelorette' Michelle Young.

For some background and for some context as to why this is important, Michelle is from Minnesota. In fact, she is a teacher in Edina. She made it into the final two last season and even though she was sent home, she got her happy ending when she was named as one of two new leads for The Bachelorette.

Blake Horstmann, a former contestant on The Bachelorette, had some big thoughts that has everyone talking. He hopped on Instagram Tuesday (April 20th) to answer a few fan questions. During this time, he said he thinks Michelle will be the last lead ever. This statement has made major headlines and has made a lot of reality television lovers like myself panic. Ha!

So what was his reason for saying that? He said the franchise had so much drama and scandal over the past few months that many people have gotten sick of it and written the franchise off.

One of the show's biggest scandals ever also happened over the past few months. Longtime host Chris Harrison got major backlash after an interview he did prior to last season's finale and stepped down as host temporarily shortly after. Blake says those who support him and those who don't won't tune in anymore for different reasons and this will cause ratings to plummet.

Whether the show will end remains to be seen. In the meantime, Michelle's season will begin filming sometime this summer. She wanted to wait until school was out for the year so she wouldn't have to leave her school kids again like she did while filming for The Bachelor. In the meantime, there is another contestant from her season that is going to be the lead first.

She is going to make a fabulous lead and I can't wait to see how well she represents Minnesota when her season airs sometime this year.
