It seems like the rest of the country is finding out what we've known about the Northland for years:  It's a great place to live!  Recent surveys have awarded various communities and establishments in our region titles for the best  the best french fries, and the best city to live in Wisconsin.  Now, they're celebrating one of our Northland communities as the Safest City in America!

A recent survey by safewise.com ranked Hibbing, Minnesota in the top spot - as number one - on their list.  Hibbing accomplished this task by having a low level of crime.  Here's what the website had to say about the Range city:

As Robert Zimmerman (aka Bob Dylan) wrote in 1963, “Hibbing's a good ol' town.” Hibbing's most famous former resident was on to something. The city boasts a Community Liaison Officer dedicated to community policing and a variety of programs that focus on effective drug and alcohol enforcement, helping it become SafeWise's “Safest City in America” for 2015.

The list also included Mequon and Hobart-Lawrence in Wisconsin  and Grosse Ill Township, Milford, New Baltimore in Michigan.
