My daughter who is now 22 was into Pokemon years ago.  I'm still holding on to the Pokemon coin that she had hoped would be a collectors item someday.  Who knew that Pokemon would resurface and take the world by storm?  While I encourage you to enjoy the frenzy while it lasts, there are a few things you need to think about where safety is concerned.

The end of the school year is near and if you're like me when my daughter was young, you're too busy to research and find exciting constructive things for your kids to do to fill their time this summer.  Since my daughter Kylee is graduating from UMD in May, I have time to do the research and help you out.

A public meeting to discuss the future of Lake Superior Zoo and Freemont Park has been scheduled for Tuesday, January 19.

Everyone has traditions they do around Easter. It's another holiday that is celebrated by religions and by families. There are traditions connected with each, and that's what makes it special. One of the biggest traditions that is celebrated by families and by kids especially is the Easter Egg-Straviganza at the Lake Superior Zoo.

Halloween is my most favorite Holiday. I love scary things, I like sexy things......wooot woooot!!, and I like the fact that life is hard, let's find ways to escape. It's the one time of the year you can be someone else and have fun in their shoes.

It was only a year ago when we were hearing stories of animals that had escaped on to Grand Ave. and were disrupting traffic. When the water went back down and the damage was tolled, 14 animals had lost their lives and the Lake Superior Zoo was in disarray.

The June 2012 flooding caused much devastation in the Twin Ports.  One public area that sustained both damage and attention was the Lake Superior Zoo - specifically the barnyard exhibit.

The Lake Superior Zoo is making great strides in getting back to what it was before the floods, and even become something new. When you hear the new plans, the Zoo is looking to make a name for itself again.

One of the big rumours this morning while I was on the radio was that the Lake Superior Zoo lost all it's animals in the floods. The Polar bear did escape but was caught a short time later and the  seals were on Grand Avenue. Here's the full story
