Choose Between 5 Fun, Educational, Local Day Camps To Keep Your Kids Busy this Summer
The end of the school year is near and if you're like me when my daughter was young, you're too busy to research and find exciting constructive things for your kids to do to fill their time this summer. Since my daughter Kylee is graduating from UMD in May, I have time to do the research and help you out.

Duluth Children's Museum
At the Duluth Children's Museum, 115 S 29th Avenue West in Duluth, ages 5-8 are accommodated in June and July with a different topic each week. Everything from healthy eating through Urban Gardening to learning basic engineering projects. Art, space, science and more. It's a very well rounded program.
The month of August belongs to ages 9-12. This age group will learn history, theater and work on the 2016 NASA design Challenge. How's that for a memorable summer?

Hartley Nature Center
Hartley Nature Center at 3001 Woodland Ave has their Summer Camp registration open now. Day camp is offered Monday through Friday to ages 3-12. Camp scholarships are available. Hartley's Summer Camp program is unique in the aspect that kids connect with nature through play and exploration. Their camps usually start at 9a, but they offer early drop off if you have to get to work or school.

Lake Superior Zoo
If your child is like me, they love animals! Registration is open now for Lake Superior Zoo's Summer Camp program at 7210 Fremont Street, Duluth. They'll make human AND animal friends while learning about wildlife. Their programs accommodate from toddlers all the way to age 17 (dang, I missed it by a few years). Your child will embark on an adventure that may help direct them to a career later in life.

Animal Allies
Again, if your child is a mammal lover they can learn about volunteerism and careers that involve animals at the Summer Camp held at Animal Allies, 4006 Airport Road in Duluth. Their camp is held on various weeks starting April through August and run from 9a-12p.

YMCA Summer Camp
Summer Camp for the YMCA is held at Camp Miller on Sturgeon Lake. This camp holds a little of everything from leadership to life skills while teaching the value of respect and teamwork. Camp is run Monday-Friday from 8a-4p with sessions running in the months of July and August.
