I'm always going a hundred miles an hour and multi-tasking.  It was because of this trait that I had something happen to me that stopped me in my tracks and made me realize an important life lesson that I want to share with you.  At the risk of sounding like a tagline for Capitol One, "what's in your wallet"?

I just received a new replacement for one of my department store credit cards - and I'm angry!  While I'm aware of the move towards security chip credit cards by the end of the year, I wasn't very happy to learn that this particular department store is now going to require me to come up with a alpha-numeric, case-sensitive pin-number - with a length of their choosing - for me to remember in order

In case you haven't heard, the United States is migrating towards adopting EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) chip technology on every card issued in this country.  The move follows what has become standard already in the rest of the world.  MasterCard and Visa are initiating those cards to their customers as their old cards come up for renewal.

Approximately 40 million credit and debit card accounts used by Target customers may have been impacted by a major data breach, the retailer said Thursday. Customer names along with credit and debit card numbers may have been accessed, as well as the expiration date and three-digit security code on the back of each card, the store said.

It happens every Holiday season. Credit card numbers are stolen by computer hackers. As of last week, over one hundred people in Lake Nebagamon and surrounding area  have been victimized so far, and the list is increasing each day.

Being denied credit is never fun, and for one 99-year-old woman, it was especially disheartening. She was turned down for a store credit card because of her age — but as it turns out, it was all a big misunderstanding.

Credit cards may make our lives twice as easy, but they can just as easily make it three times as difficult. And we’re not talking about the kind of difficult where you find out that a box of Corn Pops has sent you over your measly credit limit.

This is the kind of story that gets me upset.  It's bad enough that a lot of businesses won't accept a personal check anymore.  (...Don't get me started on that topic...)  But now it appears that the airline industry no longer recognizes U...
