Ratt followed the lead of Van Halen and became a hard rock band with a record contract and signed with Atlantic Records and immediately started writing and recording what would be its first proper album Out of the Cellar. The Album went after the charts and took on pop music..

It was released March 1984, critics loved it and fans loved a full album from the band. MTV loved the band and Milton Berle's guest appearance, dressed in his Uncle Miltie drag character, in the video for "Round and Round" helped draw even more attention to the band.

It was the first hard rock single that I remember being on the radio, then other groups were making it. Quiet Riot were soon getting airplay along side Duran Duran and Loverboy.
