It may be November but it certainly isn't feeling like it! The Northland saw record-breaking highs on Wednesday (November 4th).

WDIO Meteorologist Brandon Weathers shared this fun fact on his Facebook page Thursday (November 5th), writing that several spots across the area saw warmer-than-average temperatures. Check it out:

Wow! These records are for November 4th, as mentioned in the graphic. It is crazy to think it is this warm in November but we will definitely take advantage of it while it lasts!

It is even more wild to think of this "heat wave" considering the October we had. After all was said and done, it was our second snowiest October on record. It was also the fifth coldest October on record. Basically, it felt a whole lot like winter full-force for a good part of the month!

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, we should see a relatively mild month until we near the end of November, where it looks like winter will come at us full force. It is also likely that we will see a La Niña winter as well, which means more frequent cold snaps for the Northland AND more snow than usual. This is all the more reason to enjoy this nice little warm-up while you can.

By the way, if you're looking for a fun hobby to take up during the winter, the National Weather Service in Duluth is hosting free winter spotter training sessions this month. It is going to be a long winter, after all.
