There were a lot of happy people when last week's news about the traffic signals and upgrades for the intersection of Tower Avenue and Highway 105 were announced; now,  city officials are releasing more details about the project.

When completed, the intersection will finally receive the long-asked for traffic signals.  In addition, the busy intersection will also see dedicated turning lanes, medians, sidewalk improvements, and more.  At the same time, the railroad crossing that exists just a half-block away from the intersection will also see safety improvements - including gates and flashers.

Work in the area will go fast.  The project isn't scheduled to start until mid-to late August 2020, with completion coming by early-to mid October 2020.  Impacts to the public during the work will be kept to a minimum - with single lane closures, lane shifts, and shoulder closures expected to take care of things.

Interested individuals are invited to take a look at the plans posted on the City of Superior's website.  General comments and feedback is requested before August 28, 2019. Contact names, addresses, email links, etc. are available there for your convenience.
