Apparently someone is paying attention to the "eat what I say - not as I do" campaign;  First Lady Michelle Obama was recently awarded one of the inaugural James Beard Leadership Awards.

These awards were handed out to activists, educators and business leaders who help create a “healthier, safer and more sustainable food world,” according to a release.

Since the Obama's moved into the White House, First Lady Michelle has been promoting healthier eating and living.

The first lady is best known for leading the Let’s Move! campaign, aimed at tackling childhood obesity in America. But she’s also been instrumental in working with the business community to introduce healthier foods to under served neighborhoods, whether with the Wal-Mart initiative in January or with the food deserts campaign in July. She has also inspired countless backyard gardeners with her own White House garden.

Obama and nine others will receive their awards at a ceremony in New York City in October.

Wonder what will be on the menu that night?
