Another amazing Northlander is raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to our heart at Townsquare Media.

People across the Northland help raise money for the cause every single year. Harold and his family in Carlton are a great example of this. They have become famous across the area for their fun events that raise thousands for the cause.

Each year, they hold several popular events, with proceeds going towards families in need at St. Jude. Those big events include Harold's Golf Scramble, Harold's Flipping Flapback Fiasco and an annual Christmas tree fundraiser.

In 2021, Harold and his family raised a record amount for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They raised over $40,000 dollars. They are an incredible family in an incredible community.

Now, Justin Gower is doing the same but this isn't his first year doing so. Last year, he held a last-minute online auction. He owns JG's Custom Lures LLC and put five of his popular fishing lures up for auction. He also paired up with the owner of another company to put some bait up for auction.

The result? $2,230 dollars for the Kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. After the success of the event, he promised he'd back in 2022 and he is, with a fun event that kicks off on Tuesday, February 1st.

Beginning Tuesday night through Friday (February 4th), Gower will be hopping on Facebook live and doing some live painting of the lures. He will hop on Facebook beginning at 7:30 p.m. each night and will do some painting for a time each evening.

Next week, either on Monday the 7th or Tuesday the 8th, Gower will be holding the live auction. All of the lures he paints this week and the items he gathered from small business will be up for sale, with proceeds benefitting St. Jude.

Some of those businesses that are chipping in include; Slik Baits, Crossroad Custom, Jared's Jigs, Etched, Bojangles Baits and Hi Tech Custom Painted Baits.

To watch the painting each night and to have access to the live auction, you can follow along with Gower's adventures on the event's official Facebook page. While at the page, you can see a preview of what will be up for auction and what you can bid on come next week. You can also leave Gower some words of encouragement!

Gower says he was inspired by the loss of a teenage friend from high school. After listening to B105's annual Radiothon for St. Jude he was inspired and wanted to donate. He did one better and set up this special event so he could raise even more money for the cause.

He told me that he is hoping to raise more money than last year and that even helping one family with the money he raises would mean so much to him. Let's help out the kids at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
