Is Winter Done In The Duluth / Superior Area Come March?

We have been through it in 2021 in terms of weather. To find a great example of this, all you have to do is take a look at the first half of February, where we saw nearly three-hundred consecutive hours of frigid cold in the area.

Things definitely started looking up after we crossed the mid-month mark and have been spoiled ever since. So will this warm streak continue into March? To find this answer, I turned to the Old Farmer's Almanac.

The Old Farmer's Almanac always lays out predictions for the month ahead. Here is a breakdown of what they are predicting for the Duluth / Superior area for March of 2021:

From the beginning of March through the fifth of the month, the Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting periods of snow and cold temperatures. I guess that basically answers the question of if our warm streak will continue!

Beginning on March sixth through the thirteenth, expect flurries followed by mild conditions and cold temperatures.

From the fourteenth to the eighteenth, expect snow followed by sunshine and mild conditions. Following the eighteenth, expect snow to turn to rain with mild conditions.

The good news is we are expected to close out the month, from the twenty-fourth to the thirty-first, with sunshine and mild conditions.

According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, we will see an average temperature about three degrees above average. Precipitation will be around average.

It looks like spring may be coming in March but it won't be right away. We will have to stick it out for a bit there! This is a sentiment echoed by meteorologists at the Weather Channel, who are predicting an early spring for our neck of the woods.
