Ice Castles Will Return to Minnesota in 2023 – Adding New Ice Bar
It's one of the most beautiful events during the Minnesota winter and it's returning for another year of icy magic.
The Ice Castles are being erected again this year at the Long Lake Regional Park located in New Brighton, this is the eighth appearance of the winter event that includes lots of things to do including exciting ice slides, crawl spaces, caverns, tunnels, and amazing sculptures all made from ice, and it's all lit beautifully.
New this year is an ice bar that will offer some adult guests, plus the Ice Castles team is reimagining their popular light walk, and introducing some fun new characters hanging out in the castles for guests to meet.
Work on the massive project will start as early as November and they plan to be open by mid-January and remain open until early March, this is all weather dependent of course. It takes about 20 artists to build the Ice Castles, they grow, harvest, and hand-place icicles one by one.
"Winter is such a magical time of year," said Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird in a press release, "We're honored to be returning to beautiful Long Lake Regional Park and have some fun new discoveries and surprises in store for guests of all ages."
Mark your calendars for Monday, November, 28th, this is when tickets for the 2023 event will go on sale at icecastles.com. The event is also going on in four other states, Utah, Wisconsin, New Hampshire, and New York.
