City leaders in Superior like to promote the fact that property taxes haven't risen in the last few years.  While it's true that the mill rate for property hasn't seen much of an increase recently, city residents are paying a lot more in service fees that didn't exist a few short years ago.  The city added a Storm Water fee, a Recycling Fee, a Hydrant Fee, and split the sewer charge off of SWL&P's bill, along with an increase.

Get ready to add an additional charge come January 1, 2016:  a "per-dumpster-fee" for the "cart" (a city term) that holds your bagged garbage.  The fee is starting out at $7.75 per "cart" for the time being - with a staggered increase planned over the next few years.  There will also be a $5.00 fee for each additional "cart" that is assigned out to your address.

Residents who want to reduce the number of garbage "carts" and trim their monthly charges need to alert the city to remove them.

Click here to officially submit a form to have your additional "cart"(s) removed or to have existing "cart"(s) fixed.  You can also call the City at 715-394-0244 or 715-395-5833 for more information.
