Culvert Replacement Project Closes Jean Duluth Road

A culvert-replacement project will close a portion of Jean Duluth Road for about a month and a half.  Officials with the St. Louis County Public Works Department are alerting the public about the road work - which is scheduled to start on Tuesday, July 21.

According to project details, Jean Duluth Road will be closed between Glenwood Street and Martin Road as workers replace two different culverts and repairs a third one.  Additionally, the City of Duluth will piggyback on the project - working to relocate a large-diameter gas main in the area.

Drivers that follow Jean Duluth Road as part of their daily commute will notice detour signs.  That posted detour will direct drivers to use Martin Road, Woodland Avenue, and Snively Road for the duration of the project.  As with any road construction project, drivers are reminded to slow down and stay alert while traveling through the work area.  An estimated 5,500 vehicles travel on this specific section of Jean Duluth Road each day - creating the concern over heavy traffic.
