Bulldogs Announce Sandelin Contract Extension

The University of Minnesota-Duluth announced today that they have reached an agreement with Scott Sandelin to extend his contract to be the Men’s Head Hockey Coach for four more years, locking up Sandelin through the 2020-21 season.

The Bulldogs are coming off another successful season which saw another NCAA tournament appearance with a first round win over the defending champion Providence, before losing to Boston College. Sandelin will have to adjust to life without his goaltender of the last two seasons, as sophomore Kasimir Kaskisuo announced he was leaving Duluth for a NHL contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.

Sandelin was quoted in the Duluth News Tribune saying how happy he is to continue coaching at The University of Minnesota-Duluth. ““Certainly it’s great. I want to thank (athletic director Josh Berlo) and chancellor Lynn Black for their support and the opportunity to continue on as coach here.”
