For the fifth year in a row, the Richard I. Bong Veterans Historical Center in Superior will host a free Thanksgiving meal to all active military, veterans, and their families.
The VMH 5k is now a couple of months away and the Veterans Memorial Hall is reminding you to register now. The money raised will help gather, preserve, interpret and promote the rich and diverse human experiences of veterans, their families, and communities. There are more than 6,000 veteran stories on the website.
Register early for the VMH 5K Fun Run/Walk sponsored by the Veterans Memorial Hall. The Race takes place Saturday May 20th at the Other Place Bar and Grill. It's open to all ages and there is free parking at the event. All the proceeds go to Veterans’ Memorial Hall, which preserves the history of vets at the Depot.
They say you should never judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes. That's part of the design behind a brand-new event in the Twin Ports area that aims to increase awareness for veterans issues and raise funding.
When you see a handicapped parking sign, you know that is reserved for a senior person, someone with a handicap or someone that had a physical reason they need to park close. Many wounded veterans need that same courtesy and sometimes can't get it.
