Thieves Steal Tom Petty’s Axe

This smells funny to me. Somehow I just can't put it all together, there's gotta be more to the story than this. Here's a couple rules that any child knows, let alone a grown adult. Rule # One. Some people will steal anything. Rule # Two. If you carry a treasured possession with you, don't walk away and leave it unattended. Rule # Three. Most musicians guard their guitars with their life (except Chuck Berry), and insure them. I wonder if he missed the boat on that one too.

Thieves struck the California sound stage of the American rocker and his band last week, snatching Petty’s treasured Rickenbacker and four other guitars just as the Heartbreakers were gearing up for a tour across North America and Europe.
