Bicyclists and pedestrians:  The State of Minnesota has heard you!  In order to improve trails and pathways, they've reached out for public comment on a plan to move the region forward.  Now, they're adding a face to the process.

As August slips away, officials are running out of time to complete road construction projects that are on the docket for the summer of 2014.  As in years past, Minnesota Department of Transportation officials are utilizing night crews to help projects finish on schedule.

Last nights snowfall, combined with the strong winds and the remnants Mother Nature has left us the last few weeks have made for treacherous driving conditions today in the Twin Ports and the surrounding arrowhead region.

It's a given:  The hot summer sun can be deadly if you're not prepared.  Most of us all know the essentials:  Drink plenty of water, apply a sunscreen with a high SPF, and avoid over-exerting yourself.  But what about bicycle riders - who utilize the summer season as their time to ride?

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has good news and bad news when it comes to seat belt use in our area;  The good news is that use of seat belts has increased in northeastern Minnesota but the bad news is that it still lags behind the rest of the state.
