Ice fishing, skating, hockey tournaments. Northlanders use the ice for many different reasons. Even driving on the ice with a car or snowmobile.

A college student who put her vehicle through the ice of Lake Minnetonka didn't seem too concerned or upset as she posed for photos on top of her sinking vehicle.

We all know to well how dangerous the roads can be in Minnesota in the winter, but we are far from the worst in the United States.

Ice dams have become a big problem this winter. The people at Certified Energy Resource Teams share tips on ice dams, including what you can do to prevent them.

This video shows waves coming in under the ice, causing sheets to break and separate while the fisherman are out in the middle of the lake. Scary stuff!

After a snowstorm, it's all too common to see vehicles cruising the highways with their windows cleaned off but snow piled high on the roof of the vehicle. While some might think it's no big deal, it can be hazardous.

Maybe this isn't the best place to be silly.

The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory until noon today for the area for light icing from near-freezing temperatures and light rainfall this morning. Roadways may become icy, so drive with caution. Here are the details from the National Weather Service:

Snow shoveling is one of the dreaded aspects of wintertime in the Twin Ports. Being we're expecting a brief warm-up, now is a good time to make efforts to make sure sidewalks along your property are as clean and safe as possible.
