If you hear loud, low-flying planes overhead today in Douglas County - here's what's going on.  It's part of the Wisconsin's Gypsy Moth Spraying Program which is in place once again this summer.

Just like last year, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture have set up a spraying program to control the Gypsy Moth problem in the state.  Over the summer months, 60 sites in 18 different counties will be treated with aerial spraying.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) and partner organizations are planning to tackle gypsy moth infestations in northeastern Minnesota this summer. In anticipation of the treatments, the department is inviting people to learn about the effort at open houses to be held March 13 in Duluth.

If you were in Superior on Wednesday morning, you heard the audible sounds of the last of the Gypsy Moth aerial treatment for the 2013 season.  Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection agency have declared that the program has ended for the year.
