It's finally coming closer to our area;  The Gypsy Moth Aerial Spraying program being conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection agency will affect residents in Douglas County on June 17th.

Along with second applications in Sawyer and Bayfield counties on Monday the 17th, the program will also provide a single and final Btk treatment on the same date.

Here's what you need to know:

  • Spraying can start as early as sunrise and will continue until the day’s spray plan is complete and as weather conditions allow. Spraying requires calm winds, high humidity and no precipitation.
  • The planes will fly low, just above the tree tops. It will be loud.

We'll continue to monitor the releases from the state and pass along the details as we have them.

Additional information about the current spraying plans is available by clicking here.
