My husband and I were on our way to Wentworth Gardens to get veggie plants for the garden and we saw a line of about 11 tractors making their way across Highway 2 to the Riverside Bar, formerly Charlie's Rapid Riverside .  It was a sight to see and we wondered what the heck was going on, so we stopped on our way back.

Douglas County drivers who use County Trunk Highway B in the Town of Summit will need to find an alternative route for a while.  Work crews will begin to replace the bridge that crosses Balsam Creek on Monday, May 1;  the work is expected to start by 7:00 AM.  The road lies to the south of Superior.

We may not like to see orange cones along the roadway in the summer months but the end-result is always nice.  Along those lines, Douglas County road crews have planned an aggressive schedule of projects for the upcoming summer months.  Their Facebook page outlines the work planned.

Road crews with Douglas County will begin a chip-sealing project on State Highway 35 just south of Superior on Monday, August 22.  The work will involve repairs to the road surface in an effort to smooth the ride and make the route safer.

Douglas County wants to know about your flood damage - following last weeks torrential rainfall.  The Emergency Management Communications General Services Office is collecting damage reports from both private homes and businesses.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is looking for help from the public in regards to a burglary case.  According to their Facebook page and their homepage, the individual pictured in the surveillance photos was involved in a burglary case in the southern part of the county...

Drivers who use Douglas County Highway A from County Highway B to the Amnicon River will need to find an alternate route during the day for the next week or so.
