Douglas County Winter Recreation Trails Close For The Season

Temperatures have been above normal the last few days and that's brought about an end to the winter-time fun on Douglas County's trail system.

Officials with he Douglas County Forestry Department have announced that all Winter Recreation trail segments under its management will close for the season effective Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 11:59 PM.

Also, all Year Round Recreation trails will temporarily close on 11:59 PM Tuesday, March 10, 2015 except for the following trail segments:

• Gandy Dancer Trail – MN/WI Stateline to Patzau
• Saunders Grade – MN/WI Stateline to Schallameir Road parking lot
• Wild Rivers Trail – Douglas County/Washburn County line to a point 500 feet north of County Highway “Y”
• Wild Rivers Trail – North Trailhead parking lot (CTH A) to Harroun Road
