If you love music,  try hard to make a pilgrimage to Memphis and the birthplace of rock n roll Sun Records. Although Sun was not his initial reason for jetting to Memphis, Steve Jobs did eventually visit the holy grail...Good boy Steve...

With the release of his authorized biography, many details from the notoriously private life of Steve Jobs have been made public for the first time.

Anecdotes paint the portrait of a brilliant but exacting individual, obsessing over every minute detail of work and life. However, it also shows an artistic side to the tech titan. One blink-and-you-might-miss-it tale involves Jobs and a visit to one of the holiest places in all of rock history. But there’s actually far more to this story than what was told on the pages of the book written by Walter Isaacson.

It occurred around the time of his liver transplant in 2009, not long after Jobs’ doctors diagnosed him with end-stage cancer. An evaluation of his options took him to Memphis in March of that year for an emergency transplant.

Jobs recuperated in Memphis for a few weeks. Many of the details of how he spent that time have remained private, partly because Jobs bought a home in an exclusive neighborhood in the city that afforded him plenty of seclusion.

What’s not surprising for a music fan as big as Jobs: He made sure to tour at least one music landmark in Memphis. And he brought a local musician back to California.

Here’s what happened.
