Pets

This morning we talked to Daryl from Animal Allies and we talked about Trixie. It worked, Trixie found a home, but later in the day Daryl told me about Kona. Cute older dog, he needs a home.

Daryl and I talked about the cold weather coming our way and it's a great time for getting a pet for Seniors. It's someone for them to care for and it's a companion, there are many health benefits to having a pet including: lowering the risk of heart disease, lowering blood pressure, and reducing stress.

Animal Allies prides themselves on making animals ready to take home. One other thing I would like to compliment them on, is learning the potential pet's personality and making it easy to get to know that pet. Here is another example.

Didn't get to talk to Daryl on the air this morning, but I wound up chatting a little later and he talked about a couple of things. First of all, Goliath, a cat that needs a home and also how to help out a senior you know with a companion.

What is a barn cat? The old stereotype of a cat chasing a mouse is true of a barn cat. These cats do a lot of  work for the farm or ranch. These cats usually don't live in the house and don't care to either.

Halloween can be a very stressful time on your pet, even if they are the easy going sociable type. All the noises outside, strangers continually at the door, and extra excitement going on inside the house too.

Daryl talked to us about a couple of things. Remember, the Furr Ball is next week and to get your tickets, this is Animal Allies biggest fund raiser, and it's a lot of fun. Second, He has a new pet to talk about, June Bugg.

This morning was interesting as we talked about a kitty. Daryl from Animal Allies talked about a kitty that is very quiet, and keeps to themselves. Animal Allies is helping out this kitty that came from somewhere else, but needs a home. Sounds like a pet for someone who is busy.

Gromit, the name, brings to mind the lovable claymation type animated dog who saves his half witted owner from danger or even just a bad decison. This Gromit is fast.

There have been some famous Dottys in history. Dotty from the Pee Wee's Big Adventure Movie, Dottie West,  and golfer Dottie Pepper. The one we will show you and talk about is the Animal Allies Pet Of The Week.

Rex Smith was a sex symbol from the 80's, when I first heard the name Rex, that is what I thought of. He must be a heart throb for the ladies. Daryl confirmed the ladies like Rex and want to take him home. He has been working on his behavior and now is ready to be in a home doing tricks and chasing tennis balls.

Daryl was on the line talking cats today. I learned something, that cats usually live to be 26. There will be plenty of time on this guy. Right now Animal Allies is running a promotion  to get a cat for a dollar a life, so a cat coming home with you costs $9.
